Bucket
Functional Testing · June 2026 · Confidential

Thanks for helping us build Bucket.

You've been invited as a functional tester for Bucket — a conservation fundraising platform connecting donors with conservation groups across Aotearoa. Your job is to work through the tasks below and give us honest, specific feedback on what works, what doesn't, and what confused you. This is a test environment. The platform is not yet publicly launched. Rough edges are expected — that's exactly why you're here.

📋

Open the feedback form before you start Task 1.

Keep it open while you test, you'll record notes for every task.

Open the form

Before you start

You'll need:

  • Open the testing feedback form before Task 1. Use it to record your notes as you complete each task.
  • A device to test on — laptop, tablet, or phone. If you can test on more than one, even better.
  • Access to an email inbox you can check during testing
  • This page open on a second screen or printed out — you'll refer back to it
  • An account on bucket.community — you'll create one as part of Task 1 if you haven't already.

How to give feedback

For each task, note:

Ease rating

Score from 1 (very difficult) to 5 (very easy).

🐢
What slowed you down

Anything that confused or frustrated you.

🔴
Bugs or broken things

Specific errors, missing elements, wrong behaviour.

💡
Suggestions

Anything you'd change or add.

Be specific. "It was confusing" is less useful than "I couldn't find the button to allocate funds — I expected it to be on the project page but it wasn't there."

Record your feedback in the Google Form as you go, no need to send anything back afterward. If you hit an issue with the form, or just want to share something extra, feel free to email sheridan@bucket.community anytime.

Your tasks

Complete tasks in order — each one builds on the previous. If you get stuck, note it and move on. Don't spend more than 5 minutes on any single step before flagging it.

Imagine you've heard about Bucket from a friend. You visit bucket.community for the first time and want to create an account.

Record your notes in the feedback form you opened earlier, you'll use it for every task.
  1. 1Go to bucket.community in your browser
  2. 2Click Sign Up
  3. 3Create an account using your email address (use a real email you can access — you'll need to confirm it)
  4. 4Choose at least two conservation interests during sign-up
  5. 5Complete account creation and confirm your email if prompted
  6. 6Confirm you can see your account dashboard after signing in

You're now logged in for the first time. Before you donate anything, you want to understand what Bucket is about and browse what's available.

  1. 1From your dashboard, navigate to the Projects page
  2. 2Browse the available projects — read through at least one project in detail
  3. 3Note what information is shown on a project page (goal, group, progress, etc.)
  4. 4Navigate to the Doers page and look at one of the conservation groups
  5. 5Navigate to the Circles page and review the available circles
  6. 6Return to your dashboard

You've decided you want to start supporting conservation. You want to add funds to your Bucket.

You want to confirm that the emails you received during your testing session are correct and complete.

  1. 1Open the email inbox you used to sign up
  2. 2Find the sign-up confirmation email — does it look correct?
  3. 3Find the top-up confirmation email — does it contain the right information?
  4. 4Find any allocation or donation confirmation email
  5. 5Note the sender address, subject lines, and whether anything looked wrong or unprofessional
  6. 6Check whether any of the emails landed in your spam or junk folder

Imagine you represent a conservation group considering listing on Bucket. Explore what that experience looks like.

  1. 1Navigate to the Doers section of the platform
  2. 2Find information about how to list a conservation group or project
  3. 3Review what information a Doer group needs to provide
  4. 4Find the Start a Project flow and go as far as you can without actually submitting anything
  5. 5Note what questions or concerns you'd have if you were a real Doer group

When you're done

That's it, your feedback form is submitted and you're done. Thanks so much for testing Bucket, it directly shapes what gets fixed and improved before we launch publicly. Got extra thoughts, or ran into an issue with the form? Email sheridan@bucket.community anytime.
